A record number of black bears were killed in Tennessee during the state’s
most recent hunting season. According to the Tennessee Wildlife
Resources Agency, a total of 581 black bears were taken.
At Timber Creek Outfitters have many years of experience in bow
hunting for bear, and are also avid bow hunters ourselves. Our hunt
package is semi-guided. This means we provide a location with stand
already hung in an area with numbers of and large bears coming in. We
do also provide animal removal from the site and preparation for your
transport home. If you wish to have the meat processed, we will help you
with an area processor. Or it can be donated to Hunters Helping the
Hungry, if you wish.

As well as black bear, you can expect to see whitetail deer and turkeys.
With your archery tag you are welcome to take one deer per day and only
one turkey for the entire hunt with your bow. An additional $100 trophy fee
will be paid for each deer or turkey taken.
The average mature bear will be between 200 and 300 pounds and square
out anywhere from five to six feet or better. The bears weigh more in the
fall because of the fat layer being put on through the summer months. Our
season here in Tennessee runs from the last weekend in Spetember til the
end of October for archery tags.
